Disclosures holds the recording and AI-disclosure consent controls for your AI Answering Service, plus an append-only record of every disclosure event. It lives in the sidebar under Answering & AI → Disclosures, needs the Answering module, and is limited to the account owner and admins. It opens on Disclosure Settings, with a second tab for Disclosure Logs.
Consent requirements differ from state to state, including all-party consent rules. FireDeck gives you the controls and the record; check the wording itself with your own counsel.
Unlock the settings
- Open Answering & AI → Disclosures.
- Read the Disclosure responsibility panel at the top and click I Accept.
Until you do, every control below is disabled. Once accepted, the panel turns green and shows the date and version you accepted. If the text is ever revised, you are asked to accept again before you can make further changes.
Edit the spoken recording notice
The recording disclosure is Locked on — the switch is read-only and the notice plays at the start of every call.
- Edit Spoken recording notice.
- Click Save notice. A disclaimer appears reminding you the notice is legally operative.
- Click Accept & Save, or Decline to put the old wording back.
If your text doesn't contain the word "record," a warning appears — it does not block the save.
Set the AI-identity announcement
This is the line telling callers they are speaking with an automated assistant. It is spoken first, ahead of the recording notice.
- Edit Announcement text, or use the switch to turn the announcement off.
- Click Save announcement.
- Changing the wording asks you to accept a disclaimer. Turning the announcement off also requires ticking the box accepting responsibility for that.
Turning it back on saves immediately. Whatever you set, the assistant still confirms truthfully that it is automated when a caller asks, and the announcement is played anyway for callers in jurisdictions that require it (currently California).
Express consent and retention
Express-consent mode switches the recording line from a statement to a question — the assistant asks whether recording is okay and waits for a yes. The switch saves as soon as you flip it.
Recording retention (days) is how long recordings are kept before automatic deletion. Enter a value from 0 to 3650 and click Save.
Review the Disclosure Logs
The Disclosure Logs tab lists every disclosure event: settings changes, disclosures played on calls, callers asking whether they are talking to an AI, technician location-consent answers, and log exports. Nothing here can be edited or deleted — corrections are new rows.
Filter with Event, User, Call ID, From, and To. User narrows to a specific team member's actions; automatic call events have an actor of system and drop out when you use it. Call ID is an exact match — copy it from the Call column. From and To are counted in UTC, and To includes the whole day, so setting both to one date returns that day.
Columns are When (UTC), Event, Actor, Caller (last four digits only), Jurisdiction, Change (old value → new value), and Call. Results come 50 at a time with Previous and Next.
Export the log
Click CSV or PDF at the top right. Both cover the currently filtered rows with identical columns, and the export itself is written to the log as a Logs exported event.
